JANUARY IS NATIONAL HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS!

Yesterday kicked off a month to raise awareness about Human Trafficking – an injustice that is not only happening in places like Cambodia and Thailand, but unfortunately in our own communities as well.

Did you know that it has been estimated nearly 500,000 children in Brazil have been sold into the sex industry?  Recife is known internationally as a destination for Sexual Tourism.  Please join ESTHERS Children TODAY in helping to raise awareness and abolish modern day slavery in Brazil.  Give a one-time donation today of $12 or more, or join our $1 a Day campaign by committing to donating $30/month in 2012.  To make a one-time donation click on the “Donate” button on our homepage to donate through our secure online paypal account.  To learn more about joining the One Dollar a Day campaign or being a monthly Child Sponsor please contact Jennifer Sutherland at: jsutherland@estherschildren.org.  The entire month of January will be focused on raising awareness and combating modern day slavery – sex slavery.  Help us reach our goal of raising $12,000 by finding 1000 people to give a one-time donation of $12 this month.  Together we can save innocent lives from becoming sex slaves in 2012.

TOGETHER WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD…ONE CHILD AT A TIME!

The vision for ESTHERS Children began in the heart of Emily Sutherland during a mission trip to Brazil in July 2001. Together with her husband, Mike, and their daughter, Jennifer, ESTHERS Children was founded as a non-profit organization in 2006. At ESTHERS Children we work globally with girls between the ages of 4 and 18 years old living in extreme at-risk conditions with limited or no access to clean water, food, shelter, healthcare or a good education, and with little hope for a promising future. Our focus is working to prevent sexual exploitation, prostitution and trafficking of these vulnerable and innocent girls. We use a six-step program to see girls transformed physically, spiritually, emotionally, intellectually and socially through community outreach, family intervention and, when necessary, substitute family homes. Our newest project is the Quiet Strength Community Center for girls opened in July 2011. At the community center we seek to transform today’s girls into tomorrow’s Modern Day Esthers through academic and Christian education, Christian counseling, and training in the arts and music. We are a Christian organization working in partnership with individuals, groups, churches and other organizations locally, nationally, and globally. We are primarily funded through individuals, churches and corporate partnerships. Through these partnerships we aim to transform children, families, and communities.
